About Me:

Education & Training

Donatha is an experienced senior manager of International and local organizations, as well as a qualified, passionate and experienced gender expert. She has worked on gender policy issues; advocacy, mainstreaming and monitoring and has extensively engaged in the implementation of various gender programs with specialty in adolescent girls’ education, leadership, sexual reproductive health & rights and youth mentorship.

She has worked for Rwanda’s Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and the Ministry of Gender & Family Promotion on mainstreaming gender and social inclusion issues in the second-generation poverty reduction strategy; Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy (EDPRS). She has worked for international organizations like; Nike Foundation’s Girl Effect Rwanda Office (2011-2017) and FAWE (2009-2012), one of the leading Pan-African organizations supporting girls’ education.
In August 2016, Donatha was nominated by CEO Global for the Country and Great Lakes Regional Awards for Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government under the category of Welfare and Civil Society. She is a member of professional networks and serves on various Advisory Boards.
She holds a MSc Gender & Development from the University of Rwanda and a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Major in Economics).
