Novella Nikwigize is an event facilitator and moderator, Programme Specialist on Women, Peace, Security and Humanitarian Action in Central African Republic and former TV anchor on the Rwandan National TV hosting weekly shows in French and English discussing with key experts and high-level guests on issues pertaining to Africa’s development. She has worked as a professional on gender and development issues for United Nations organizations, NGOs and consultancy firms.
She is the co-founder and Board Member of a New-York based NGO working on the nexus between peace and prosperity, she has worked in academia as a lecturer and researcher as well as a gender analyst.
She holds a Masters in Gender from Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) and a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Sorbonne Paris IV (France). As a journalist she has moderated high level events and panel discussions across Africa, among which the African Union AfCFTA Business Forum, Transform Africa Summits, the African Union of Broadcasters Presidential Session, all of which were graced by the presence of H.E. Paul Kagame among distinguished participants, the annual Intergovernmental Committee of Experts organized by the UN Economic Commission for Africa in Eastern and Central Africa, Youth Connekt Africa Summits, the Next Einstein Forum, the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) Hybrid Conference, as well as high level events in Cameroon, Chad, Comoros, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya and Tanzania among others.
She also hosted and interviewed key personalities, including President Paul Kagame (Rwanda) in his first interview on the National broadcaster, President of the EU Council Charles Michel, President Azali Assoumani from Comoros, Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E Arancha González Laya, Secretary General of Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie H.E. Louise Mushikiwabo, Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs Amb. Dr Richard Sezibera, Dr Phumzile Mlambo Ngcuka (UN Women Executive Director), Dr Donald Kaberuka (Former AfDB President), Dr Vera Songwe (Executive Secretary of UN Economic Commission for Africa, ECA), former Presidents and various members of the Diplomatic Corps and Ministers across continents. She is a firm believer of an African-led development, the protection of human rights and a gender advocate.
